Q: How can Peduli Insan's aid reach Gaza when there are border restrictions?
A: Aid is channeled through two main methods:
Peduli Insan works directly with implementing NGOs in Gaza & Palestine. Field teams obtain supplies from local suppliers who are still operating. These supplies are used to provide hot meals and clean water distribution to residents.
In addition, aid is also sent through border crossings in the form of non-perishable food such as canned food (e.g. meat). This method is subject to the approval of the border authorities. For example, during Aidiladha 2025, Peduli Insan sent canned food supplies which are currently awaiting clearance at the Jordanian border. All of these stocks have a shelf life of 2 years (released June 2025), so they remain safe to use once they enter Gaza.
Q: What percentage of management costs are used from each donation?
A: Peduli Insan's annual management costs are estimated to be around 10%. However, this rate is calculated comprehensively for a year's operations, not based on each specific campaign or project. This percentage may also change slightly according to the implementation of the program, current needs and field situation that year.
To ensure transparency and integrity, an annual Audit Reports is also provided and can be accessed through the official website from the following link: Audit Reports.
Q: Why does the price of a hot meal for one person reach RM35? It seems very expensive
A: The cost of food in Gaza is very high due to the blockade which has caused limited supply and inflated prices. For example, in June 2025 the price of 1kg of flour reached RM125 and 1kg of lentils was around RM62. Even though there are ingredients such as rice, vegetables or canned beans, all are sold at much more expensive prices than in Malaysia. This amount of RM35 not only covers the raw materials, but also the costs of preparation, cooking and management on the ground, making the estimate realistic according to the current situation in Gaza.
Q: How can I see proof that aid has actually arrived and ensure that the management of donations is transparent?
A: Peduli Insan always emphasizes transparency in every donation entrusted. Evidence of the implementation of aid can be seen through displays on our official social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, where we share photos, videos, and reports on the latest progress of aid distribution.
In addition, to ensure integrity in fund management, annual Audit Reports are also prepared by certified auditors. This report can be referred to by the public via the official website as proof that every donation is managed transparently, prudently, and reaches those who really need it.
Q: Why are there still people in Gaza who have not received aid?
A: The biggest challenge in delivering aid in Gaza is the Zionist regime's strict restrictions that make it difficult for aid to enter directly and comprehensively. Peduli Insan uses its own method by working with local NGOs in Gaza to distribute hot food, clean water and basic necessities in phases.
However, with the estimated population of Gaza reaching around 2.1 million people, as well as various constraints in terms of security, access, funding sources and logistics, this effort cannot cover all residents at once. Despite this, Peduli Insan remains committed to continuously distributing aid according to its capabilities. Every donation is distributed to those most in need, and the progress of distribution is shared transparently through our official platform.
Q: Why are the people of Gaza still starving when aid has reached them?
A: Individuals who are severely malnourished to the point where their skeletons are visible require a long recovery period even after they have started receiving nutritious food. Meanwhile, the available donations are not able to accommodate all the victims of the war due to the vastness of Palestine. However, we are still trying our best and best, according to our available capacity, to channel aid to those we can reach.
Q: Are raw materials available in the local market?
A: Raw materials are still available in the local market, but in very limited quantities and at skyrocketing prices. Therefore, we prepare hot meals using ingredients such as canned beans, vegetables and rice. Although the price of these ingredients is also expensive, they are still more affordable than raw materials such as meat which are much harder to obtain.
Q: Why not do air drops?
A: For now, Peduli Insan has successfully distributed food aid using resources from within Gaza itself. Efforts to deliver via air drops are being carried out by other parties. From our side, there are two main methods used, and thank God, the food provided has safely reached those in need.
